Building software the way it should be built - with users actually coming first.
Maple Code Studios started with a simple frustration: too much software today treats users like products instead of people. We kept seeing apps that promised to help but really just wanted your data, tools that claimed to make life easier but were actually designed to keep you hooked.
We knew there had to be a better way. So we decided to build software the way it should be built - with users actually coming first. Not just as a tagline, but as the foundation for every choice we make.
We're a small team based in Burlington, Vermont, and we believe in quality over quantity. We'd rather make one really great app than a bunch of okay ones. We'd rather grow at a pace that makes sense than chase growth numbers that don't help anyone.
Vermont isn't Silicon Valley, and that's the whole point. We're not surrounded by pressure to "move fast and break things" or to put growth above everything else. The slower pace here gives us room to think clearly about what we're building and why it matters.
Like the maple trees that gave us our name, we think the best things take time to grow. We're not trying to disrupt anything or become a billion-dollar company. We just want to make software that actually helps people, and we're willing to take our time to get it right.
Privacy isn't something we add on later. It's baked in from the start. We design our apps to collect as little data as possible. If we don't need your information to make the app work, we don't ask for it. Simple as that.
We charge fair prices for good software. No ads, no selling your data, no tricks to push you into upgrading. When you pay for our apps, you get the full experience. And we get to focus on making it better for you, not for advertisers.
We tell you exactly what our apps do. Our privacy policies are written in plain English because we actually want you to read them. When we make changes, we explain them clearly. Trust comes from being honest, not from burying things in legal speak.
We read every piece of feedback we get. We're always improving our products based on what real users actually need, not what we think might look good on a chart somewhere.
Our flagship product is VoxType, an AI-powered keyboard that helps you communicate better without storing your conversations, selling your data, or locking you into one AI provider. It's available as an Android keyboard and a Chrome browser extension.
VoxType is just the start. We've got more products in the works, including a Windows desktop app and plans for iOS and macOS. All built with the same ideas: solve real problems, respect people's privacy, and deliver real value.
We're always looking for talented people who think the same way we do. If you believe software can be built differently - with ethics and thoughtfulness at the center - we'd love to talk.
And if you're just someone who likes software that treats you right, thanks for the support. Every person who chooses privacy-respecting products helps show that there's real demand for doing things the right way.
